Meet Bilal
Bilal is six years old. He and his family live living near an Israeli settlement at Wadi Abu Hindi. They are living in their second home which is controlled by the government. His first house was knocked down because they did not have a permit to build it. They sleep on a mat outside in the summer and inside during the winter. Bilal's diet is mostly made of rice and yoghurt (yogurt). The family owns 15 goats which are used to make the yoghurt. Once a week, they might eat meat with their rice, but its a rare treat that they treasure and save. Also, his family gets only two liters of water a day. Bilal does not go to school yet, so he has to stay home to care for the goats.
